They qualified for the ISL playoffs in this season too. But are they in their best shape. We see fingers pointed at Carles Cuadrat.
Where did Cuadrat go wrong?
Failed to replace Miku
We cannot put the entire blame on the manager for this. Miku was one of the reasons behind Bengaluru FC's winning of lot of silverware. The Chhetri-Miku duo was almost unstoppable. His departure left a void in the BFC attack.
Manuel Onwu who came at the beginning of the season didn't impress both the manager and fans. But when Onwu switched to Odisha FC, he couldn't stop scoring. Cuadrat couldn't bring the best out of him. Deshorn Brown who came mid-season didn't get much time to impress. But certainly not a perfect replacement for Miku.
Lack of quality performances from Ashique and Udanta
Udanta Singh is considered as the best winger in the national team. He delivered for both club and country. But 'The Flash' was off colour this season. He scored just one goal from the 18 matches he played and provided no assists. He was too busy missing golden opportunities.
Ashique is one of the hot prospects for the national team. But he young winger couldn't put the ball in the back of the net at least once this season.
Who to blame for their performances? The players? Or the manager himself? Needless to say, Cuadrat couldn't bring the best out of the duo.
Over reliance on set pieces
Bengaluru FC are too good at set pieces. But that is turning out to be a weakness for the boys in blue. Bengaluru just can't score from open play. They once played the best football in the country under Albert Roca. But now they have lost it.

The Chhetri-Gurpreet factor
Sunil Chhetri and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu are always at the top of their game. Sunil always finds back of the net. Gurpreet has been the 'Guardian Angel' for the club. This duo saves the day for Bengaluru most of the times. But it won't last forever. Sunil is nearing the end of an illustrious career. So better watch out Mr.Cuadrat.

There is little doubt that Bengaluru is a champion side. Cuadrat wins the numbers game. He was victorious in 23 games out of the 48 games he manged with losing just 14. But losing out on AFC cup qualifiers has put him on the hot seat.
Let us know your opinion about Carles Cuadrat.
